Small Business Development Center (SBDC)

Providing Entrepreneurs & Small Business Owners with the Tools of Success

How do you learn, compete and grow as a small business in a tough and competitive economy? The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) hosted by College of the Canyons (COC) helps prospective and existing small business owners start new businesses, tackle current business challenges, and develop the tools and methodologies necessary to successfully manage and grow their businesses. We provide workshops, trainings, one-on-one consulting engagements, networking and other resources to the business community in the Santa Clarita, Antelope and San Fernando Valleys.

We receive our funding from the SBA, COC, the state of California, and a wide variety of business partners. Fees for our consulting and advisory services are paid out of our various funding sources, which means your consulting engagement with SBDC Business Advisors is provided at no cost to you or your business, and our trainings and workshops are provided free or at a nominal cost.

Whether you are an early stage entrepreneur or an established business, our team of business advisors can provide you with business consulting in a wide variety of disciplines including business plan development, accounting and bookkeeping, marketing and sales, and technology. We can also provide you with assistance in accessing capital, state and federal government contracting and much more.

Consulting – The SBDC provides free one-on-one consulting services with professional Business Advisors on all business issues including business expansion and start-up, marketing and sales tactics, business plan development, import/export assistance, logistics, manufacturing, financing resources, access to capital/loan packaging, finance and accounting, HR, legal issues, web site design and development, e-commerce and more.
